So I was basically forced to sign up for this course by my BOE, but I'm not sure that I will be able to complete it. How strict are they on keeping up with the course and being on time for things?

I thought whether you completed it was up to you. Just don't put it as a goal or whatever in ur review, coz they will see that as a failure and not good.

I would recommend trying ur best to complete it though to help you get more out of your time here if you only have very limited japanese. ^^

According to the study guide that came with the language package, we can submit all tests by the deadline for the last book and still get a Certificate of Completion. However, if you miss two deadlines, you won't receive anymore course material.

I can foresee myself missing the deadline for book 2 and 3, but I still want to complete the course. Does anyone know of any solutions?

Hello,

I signed up for the Intermediate Japanese lessons course along with the other two teachers who are part of my BOE. They both received emails saying their textbooks are on their way. I never received the email and have not gotten any books. Who should I contact or how should I go about finding out what happened?

Thanks.

I don't think we're in the same course, but in my course instructions I think it was that if you have two tests outstanding, then you won't get any more materials until you submit those tests. I.e., you could be late on book 2, then turn it in, and be late on book 3, then turn it in, and you'd still get the next set of materials. Again, not 100% sure, but I think this is how it works.

Also, again if your course is anything like mine, there's a deadline for the tests but otherwise we can submit the test anytime between receiving the book and the deadline. So if you know when you're going to miss a deadline (planned travel, etc), you could work ahead a bit that month and submit the test early.

Thank you. That seems more reasonable. I must have read it wrong.

Also if it's the same as last year you can submit 5 (I think) out of 6 ontime for each test deadline and skip 1 entirely.
Or
You can submit ALL 6 before the absolute final deadline and forget the individual deadlines but you have to pass them all.

No, at least for my course, I have a mail in card that looks like a scantron. I would pull my hair out if it was electronic.

If you're doing Beginner ----> Advanced, RTM. >< le sigh. Otherwise, *shrugs*
you can still send it in if you want. You just have the option of submitting it online as well.
