Question concerning dependents.

I am applying for the US program. My boyfriend will be going with me if I am accepted. I know he is not a dependent but is there a specific area where I should put his information? He is also not applying to the program.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you need to put him on there. afaik, you can't get a spousal visa if you're not married. If your boyfriend gets a working visa by himself, then it doesn't really matter. I wouldn't expect the Japanese embassies to assist him get his working visa though, so he'd have to get it through normal channels.

If he's just your boyfriend--not a spouse and not a Programme applicant--then Patryn is right; there's really no need (or place) to mention him anywhere on the application. It will be your and your boyfriend's responsibility to ensure he has a valid visa.

If you're accepted, you may need to mention your boyfriend to your contracting organization, in particular if the two of you want to live together. But that's a matter for later, once you get into the Programme.
