I have been placed in Gifu prefecture, motosu city. Very excited

I hope everyone hears about their placements soon.

You nearly gave me a heart attack - I thought you were going to tell me about haunted bathrooms or something. I was waiting with baited breath! Okay, spill, what makes the place so awesome?

Leaving aside the personal stuff... you've got the oldest established hot springs in the entire country and some super-tasty citrus. The place is also quite traditional, but at the same time is still very much a city - I'm not sure, but I think that the local government won't allow buildings to be built above a certain height; the effect of this is that you can see Matsuyama Castle from just about everywhere in the city. And it really is a splendid castle.

The other vantage point is that the castle itself is on top of a mountain that much of the remainder of the city has sprawled out from the base of. Matsuyama is actually quite flat, and probably the best place I've ever been to in regards to getting around on a bike. The locals clearly know this - you will see bicycles everywhere. Perhaps I'm bias, but the city can also be criminally pretty at times.




No haunted bathrooms that I know of, though. Sorry about that

That sounds and looks extremely promising. I requested for semi-rural so it's a perfect placement, really. I love the idea of biking everywhere because I never get the chance to in Singapore, the land of cars and really efficient public transport so I'm already looking forward to it!
