Australian JET hopefuls thread

Postby SatelliteAria » Sun Apr 17, 2011 9:49 pm

Hi guys. Just wanted to make a space for Aussies to post their results. I assume you are still waiting like me in Brisbane. Good luck and fighto! during your (hopefully) short wait for results. :)

Hi! Waiting in Brissie as well, rather desperately now! Its horrible watching people on here talk about all the stuff they need to do now that they have been accepted.

Yes positive thoughts, not long to go now, I am hoping for midweek since we have to wait for post. Goodluck to you as well, hopefully will be meeting you at the information sessions :D

Well at least we know that the results are out, and that they are "on their way" towards us.

I'm hoping it comes out before Thursday! The stress of waiting would kill the easter holiday otherwise.

Don't forget ANZAC day as well! Extra long public holiday weekend this year, I don't think I could take it either, the anticipation might do away with me :S

But yes results on the way, people have still been accepted, JET program is still going on, yay for that!

Also waiting on from Brisbane. Wonder if they will e-mail anyone, or just stick with the Aus Post.

When I spoke to the consulate in early April they said that this initial stage of contact would be done via mail.
E-mail and phone contact would only be done in later stages.

Ahh the mail man!! The consulate would have to send it out on Tuesday for us to definitely get it on Thursday. Wednesday would be cutting it too fine.

And yes, the 5 days holiday...

Saw that Kiwis are receiving their results too now.. We surely can't be far off!

If only I didn't live two postage days away from Melbourne.. The joys of snail mail!

Hi there, been lurking for the past few weeks while the waiting continues.

I interviewed in Adelaide so am now anxiously waiting my results from Melbourne, its nerve wracking as my friends from the US who applied have already received their results and they were shortlisted... Come on AusPost!

On a side note, where did you other Aussies put down as preferences for location? I put in Saitama, Chiba and Yamanashi. But having just come back from a year on exchange in Nagoya with Uni, I wouldn't mind heading back Chubu/Aichi way or even heading up to Hokkaido for lovely cool summers. (Really, in the end, anywhere is awesome right? )

Woohoo! Nice going! I believe you are the first Australian to post with short-list results. Indeed West side is showing us up, haha. Good for you mate :)

You got your results emailed to you? I was under the impression that all Australian applicants were to find out our results through the mail?

Hi there! Good picks there, all really handy to Tokyo as well, so weekend adventures for you mayhaps, haha. My three picks were Mie, Miyagi and Kyoto all because they are beautiful. I especially want Kyoto for obvious reasons, but Mie would be a great second. I wish to seriously study Shinto whilst I'm in Japan and it would be neat living close to Ise. I won't speculate on my chances for the MIyagi placement, but I will say that if they want me, I will be just as (if not, more) honoured to serve there. In the end, and like you, I think anywhere will be fantastic. Rural would be a good kick up the bum for me to really study my Japanese, and I sort of yearn for the country life again after being a city kid for 10 years.
