Wow. Sounds like a crappy low paying job for someone with management skills. Why would anyone do that?

Oh come on now Jenny, it's not that bad for Hokkaido cost of living.

And it's in Hokkaido - bonus. And probably near good snow for boarding - bonus.

Yah, for a ski/snowboard bum it's often jobs like this or wait tables.

...Or get the king of all ski bum jobs - zooming a multi-tonne groomer around the mountains in the dead of night, crushing everything in your path.

I would have to agree with a prior poster,

Why would anybody who has a BA in Hotel Management, basically bilingual and experience in management and writing financial reports work for pay that is pretty much minimum wage in Japan?

With as much they could make doing the exact same thing anywhere else in the world, based upon the requirements they want, this would be like working for peanuts.

Of course, that's my own opinion...

Minimum wage? Most starting salaries in Japan are like 220,000 a month, 230,000 if you have a masters - even in Tokyo, where your rent is likely half of that. Foreigners do make more on average, yah, but I wouldn't call that minimum wage. That kind of money in rural Hokkaido will go almost twice as far as would here in Tokyo...

Lots of JETs in Hokkaido fall in love with the winter and struggle to find jobs there after JET is up, myself included. Most end up in less paying private ALT jobs.

Plus, just because you don't fulfill all the requirements of a job posting doesn't mean you shouldn't bother applying.
