JET-affiliated websites

Postby patrick » Thu Nov 27, 2008 1:20 pm

I was just wondering if there has ever been talk or discussions about trying to bring together all JET-affliated websites? I know forums are really important for keeping the lines of communication open, but does every prefecture also need their own website? With the way forums have become more popular over the last few years AND with all the bells and whistles they now come with, I just think it would be much less overwhelming for ALTs traveling around on the internet trying to search and find different things.

Hell, you could even bring all forums under the wing of JET:
www.jetprogramme.org/forum-iwate
www.jetprogramme.org/forum-hokkaido
www.jetprogramme.org/forum-okinawa

etc...

Just throwing out ideas...

lol...that's because I was just throwing out ideas about what to name the various forums. They were just URL suggestions.

Never saw this. It would be nice, but everyone runs their sites independently, with forums integrated in most. And if every prefectures JET site and forums was ran through ours the scale would be unmanageable for us. If all current JETs were using our forums, I think it would turn into a BD or ITIL real quick. Too many people, too few moderators.
