Great work! Yeah i'm sort of scared I won't get in, but scared if I do. I still have about an hour before mail comes today...but i'm thinking Monday is more likely.

Well good luck...I actually thought I'd botched the interview hardcore...so I'm not sure what categories they put the most weight on. But yeah...hopefully it works out for you :D

Got my letter about 10 minutes ago. Alternate CIR, am a bit bummed, but I also found out that there has not been a single person from Brisbane selected for a CIR role this year.
Bit of a kick in the teeth but what can you do?
Congrats to all those that got shortlisted as an ALT! :)

I live in Hervey Bay and I got my letter today, and I got in as an ALT, yayy! Congrats to everyone, and I've heard quite a few ppl say that if you get on the reserve list thing it is pretty likely you will get through. So good luck :)

Congrats everyone! My husband and I both got our letters today and we both got short-listed as ALTs. Pretty excited but worried that we might get placed separately... :S

No CIRs from Brisbane? Where did you hear that from?

Congrats, all of you Awesome Aussies! :D

2nd year Aussie ALT from Aichi here. If you're placed in the Tokai region, I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have (to the best of my ability.) :-D

Woah, woah, woah! Hold on. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. XD

My best friend applied with me at the same time and he was Alternated and he never got in. It's a 50/50 chance. Any alternates, keep your options open. Start looking at other companies or eikaiwas.
I want to go to Italy! I want to eat pizza. I want to eat cheese. I want to see soccer games. Nice country! Let's go!

When I read this on Friday, I thought you said all of Australia and went into a 'WTH?' freak out. Glad to realise I'm just illiterate.
Sorry to hear that you didn't get in, though. Last year, only one CIR was originally placed from the Melbourne Consulate, although a second one got a position later. I know of alternates still receiving placements as late as November or December, so don't give up hope! (At the same time, don't pin all your hopes on JET...)

Best of luck to all the Melbourne applicants, I expect most of you will be getting the letters in the mail today! *crosses fingers*
And best of luck to the rest of you, too!
