Speaking of which, does anyone know if we leave from Newark or JFK? I'd ask the coordinator, but she's probably too busy for silly questions like that. I live in NJ and the trek to JFK is quite annoying, so reserving a hotel room at JFK where I can crash right after our pre-departure orientation would be convenient for getting up the next morning and boarding the flight to Tokyo... whereas if we are leaving from Newark, a hotel room in Newark would be useless as I live relatively close to Newark airport.

You guys will most likely fly out of JFK. That's the way it was last year and since I was also coming from NJ with Newark only 40 min away it was a big pain. As far as I know NYC Consulate has always flown out of JFK at least recently. Good luck you guys! Got alot of openings in Miyagi in the coming year so maybe we can get some more Tri-state area folks in the mix!
