Hello 8)

There are lots of comments floating around about when we're due to get the results. The most common belief seems to be that we'll hear from them in early April. I'm holding out for mid-April for the latest.

Meanwhile, you can try to get your mind off this whole business.... (hahaha! that's a joke, there is no way anyone could possibly concentrate on anything with the date so close) ... Think happy thoughts!

so im sure we all dying to get an answer already! suspense sucks! :x

anyway i have my Police clearance but not my medical form thingy as i havent done the x-ray yet, like others im no longer on medical aid,
so to pay cash is rather expensive. will it be ok if i dont submit it until i receive an answer ? or should i just submit it once and for all ?

has anybody contacted ryan keet yet and asked if he might know when we'll receive an answer ?
anyway hopefully we'll have some news soon.

Ciao!

I heard early April initially, but a lot of people have a strong conviction for the 16th of April.

I haven't sorted out any policey things or medical things. I'm fairly certain that they don't expect you to do these things until you've found out. Out of interest, how long did the police clearance take?

I hope we all get pleasantly (or <((T.T))>) surprised sometime next week...

As for the police clearance... I heard horror stories about it taking about 3 months to get one. So I applied for one just before Christmas and was shocked when I got it the first week of January. Roughly about 2 weeks and over a busy season! So it's not really long at all. It would be sensible to wait until you (pl.) hear from them before getting the PC and medical stuff. Apparently the PC expires after 6 months anyway.

Now for a quick question, do we send off the PC and medical stuff to the address we sent our apps to? Or do we send it to our respective consulate thingies?

I would guess you send it off to the embassy in Pretoria like the applications since everything seems to be organized there, but I could be wrong. You could try asking Ryan, I suppose, or just wait until you get told what to do after results are sent out.

I thought that the forums would stir itself alive just before the results were to be released. But it's so quiet here ... it's a little creepy to be honest.

police clearance takes 14 working days if you are in Gauteng- since the head office is in PTA- you will have to drop it off and collect it yourself though as it takes much longer via post.

Q? What happened to all the early departures...have they left already??? or do they not have any news yet either- cos then they running late with the feedback isn't it?

I'm not sure but I don't think that there were very many ED people. Maybe there were no ED take ins for SA??? Can anyone nay or yay this?

If there are any April departures, they leave between the 10-14 April. I think.

Just finished reading last year’s 46 page thread before going through this one.
So. Much. Info. O_O!!

The scariest thing I’ve encountered is the amount of money I’d need to save up.
I only plan on applying for 2014, so I just gotta work hard and save up, I guess.
Good to see at least one familiar username on these forums :D
Looking forward to seeing how things turn out for all of this year’s applicants.
Good luck, everbody.
Fewer potholes on the road less traveled.

I agree! I'm so tense, I keep snapping at everyone  Some US consulates have already sent out e-mail confirmations (New-York and Detroit I think). Where did you hear that we would be notified by the 10th, Gordon? :)
