Sadly more than people posting bad news it will mean many people will suddenly disappear and stop posting.

Thanks, Smasha! It's not the prefecture I requested, but my first choice was Hiroshima, and maybe they tried to put me somewhat close to it.

Ah, that's cool! I put Hiroshima City as my first choice and Hiroshima Prefecture as my second choice. It's really encouraging to know that you were placed in Hyogo :)

Next week? What happened to April 16th or around that week? I know it says early April right now, but does that mean next week?

I would say most people are saying next week because the results generally come out the first week of April, with the exception of last year because of what happened. I would say that if people were told the week of April 16th it was probably a sort of an at the latest you'll find out that week sort of thing.

Of course I don't really know but next week sounds better than a few weeks, doesn't it? Good luck to everyone!

Next week definitely sounds better than mid-April. If i don't hear within the first week of April, I think I will pop an e-mail to the JET Coordinator in Vancouver, just to make sure they haven't sent anything yet, and find out when they will send the notifications

It feels good to finally have the access to this forum again, since last week I couldn't access it for some reason.
1 month and a half has past since our interview. The stress is right back, and this time I feel powerless since I have to way to better my chances of getting in.

So I decided to ask you fellow jet applicants the following question : How are you going to react upon receiving your letter. Are you going to open it right off the bath? Ask someone else to do so? Wait for your friends/parents/dog/boyfriend/girlfriend to be around to share the joy/deception?

I think I will ask my mom to read it, since she doesn't understand english very well, it will take more time to her to find out if I'm going or not to Japan. :P

Thanks for sharing, I might steal your ideas!

Well if it helps if you get in you'll probably get an email long before you get a letter.

I remember when Calgary and Winnipeg had just gotten their interview e-mails, I waited a few days then begrudgingly accepted my failure. When I actually got the e-mail, I'd just finished work and DANCED of joy. I'm hoping for a repeat.

If it was a letter, I would probably let someone else read it for me. But if I get e-mails on my phone. I can't imagine not checking my phone or ignoring the temptation for very long. If I got e-mails the regular way (on the computer), I would probably let someone else read it for me. Or call someone then read it while they're on the line. If it's good news, have an impromptu evening at the bar. If it's bad news, have an impromptu evening at the bar. If I'm alternated... I still haven't figured it out.

Good or bad, I can't wait. If it is good, well I will dance for joy and probably make some long distance phone calls to loved ones. If it is bad, I got a few companies, such as Interac, book marked. I think they have a session in Vancouver in April... Either way I am going to Japan, ideally with JET but if that door doesn't open for me, I will find others :D

Nice,
I had a lot of fun reading you guys. The stress has vanished for the moment with the good laughs. Also thank you for pointing out the fact that well most likely get the email before the physical mail letter ! Ah!
