Summer Japanese Study Program!!!

Do you guys have experience or know of any summer study programs for Japanese? Some ALTs in my prefecture studied Japanese on special leave for about four weeks at a language university last year and I'm looking to do the same. I'm currently searching for potential schools. Tell me what you know!

To fit the summer break schedule, the term will have to be around 4 weeks in the summer.

I'm aware of one in Sapporo and two in Kyoto right now. The Kyoto ones are called "Kyoto Institute of Culture and Language" and "Kyoto Japanese Language School."

I'm looking for a school in Osaka in particular.
If you guys have any experience or have heard of these schools, give me your opinions!

Depends where you are in Osaka. If you can get to Umeda/Osaka JR then sure, but if you're down in Izumi or somewhere similar it'd take far longer, so I can understand the request.

I'm also interested in taking a summer intensive Japanese course; though I'm in Hiroshima, so Kyoto is a bit far. Does anyone happen to know of any courses in the Chugoku/Hiroshima region?

Also, any advice on broaching the subject of special leave with our CO/supervisor?

The most recent issue of J-Life had a list of schools it recommended. I couldn't vouch for any of them, but in addition to the likes of Tokyo, they list places in Fukuoka (City), Nagano, Gifu, Osaka, Okayama, Kobe, etc. etc.

The list starts at pg. 12 (pg. 14 going by PDF count). It's a large file so it takes a while to show up, or at least, it does on my work computer.

they've got a buncha different schools in japan and provided me with a ton of useful information ranging from intensity level of each school to application.

are there any affordable ones?
I remember checking out a Hokkaido one and it seemed to be a bit of a money making scam, cost more than a month:s pay for a week or two...

which one in hokkaido are you talking about? i've seen one in hokkaido where it's like $5000 for 2 months including homestay which is ridiculously expensive even though it includes homestay. you can attend language school for 6 months with that amount.
