I tried calling the embassy today. This was the first time that I called. I mentioned 'Jet Programme' and immediately the lady's attitude was like 'sigh, another one', and quickly transferred my call to the desk of someone who was conveniently 'unavailable at the moment, please leave a message'.

Hey there, Im a Barbadian applicant....been following this forum for a while but Im not one to be on it constantly.....Just to settle some of your nerves, responses have already been sent out. I received my Interview information via email on Tuesday morning.....and its for the 24th February here in Hastings......calling doesnt help though you may be inclined to.....dont.. just keep checking and rest assured as long as you are shortlisted, you will get an email by Friday I have been informed.....God bless......not sure when next ill be on here but to all those who are praying, God will hear...sit tight....

If the responses are out, that doesn't make much sense. What are the chances that of everyone posting here so far, nobody got picked? Trinidad is not that big a place.

I agree. I would have expected at least one person who has been posting here to have gotten a response by now. I wonder why it's taking the embassy in Trinidad so long just to do that. It doesn't make sense to me.

I called them again. They have not released their short listed candidates as yet.

I'll be honest here. I worked very hard on my application. I invested a lot of time and I have a lot riding on this. I held up my end of the deal. As far as i'm concerned, I have every right to call them when I like, how many times I like, until i get a response, because as far as I'm concerned, i did my part, and the embassy isn't holding up theirs.

Is it only this year that notices are late or did this happen last year as well...I wonder...

So I just finished writing my post, explaining that I called the embassy yesterday and was politely told that the Trinidadians haven't been notified as of yet because they haven't secured a location to conduct interviews, only to get knocked off the forum and lose said post... Anyways as I was saying, I have been lurking this board for a while but I didn't want to post anything until I knew where I stood (interview / no interview), but I know from experience that not knowing is stressful and irritating. So I just wanted to let my fellow trinis know that they have our results and just haven't sent it yet - don't ask me why they couldn't just send out notifications that we've passed and then send a subsequent email with date, time, and place...but this is Trinidad after all. So rest up for the weekend and hope and pray that they find a place on Monday, so that we can finally know where we go from here.

To answer the previous post - last year's notifications for Trinis were sent out at the end of January, the Bajans got theirs early February.

@Tacuma: I feel your pain about wanting to get notifications in a timely manner because I was in your shoes last year. I do hope that you get enough time to make all your arrangements if you are selected, but its gonna be sooo expensive...
