Inaka for me. I live in a small town already. Already spent time in some of the cities and was hoping for a change of pace. Plus I thought it might bump my score. =)

I'm pretty sure the application said placement preferences would not affect your score (unless perhaps you give a particularly daft reason or show lack of flexibility in the interview?), but obviously that's a convenient preference to have, so good for you.

I kept trying to think of the ideal location for myself in Japan, but every time I would pick some I would stop and think of more places... I guess I'd better be prepared to answer why I didn't make a request.

I didn't make a placement request either. It's fairly easy for me to adapt to different climates/areas. Also I've never been to Japan, I didn't think I really had a good idea on where I would like to be placed.

You could put me next to a pile of ruins and I'd be happy. Heck, when I considered going to korea, I was going to request the area around the ancient capital of Shilla which literally is a pile of old rocks and foundations in the grass a thousand years old and apparently in the most sparsely populated area in the country, hahaha. That stuff's the best to me, though.

I really thought about doing the first interview on the first day but ended up settling for the second day. I'm thinking of driving up at around 6:30 so I can get most of the drive done before the huge rush hour. If I leave at 8 I'm going to be in traffic the whole way. its better to leave ridiculously early and find somewhere to chill than be stressed about getting there in time.
