Dear Shortlisted JETs,

Congratulations on being shortlisted! Most of you will be arriving for Tokyo Orientations A, B, or C and here at CLAIR we are busy preparing for your arrival. To all shortlisted JETs, you will receive a copy of the General Information Handbook before departing your home countries for Japan. We also have a PDF of the GIH on the JET Programme webpage (http://www.jetprogramme.org/e/current/pubs/gih.html) and we encourage you to read it thoroughly. There is a lot of information and it may seem overwhelming, but there is a lot of useful information relating to your upcoming work and life in Japan, and it is a useful reference after you have arrived, so please familiarise yourself with the content of the GIH early.

Likewise, if you are an alternate JET participant, please read through the GIH so that you are more prepared if you are upgraded.
