The reason I can't do that is that I'm using my home address as my current address because I'm leaving university very soon. As such I'm having to get the documents online and can't go in to my home police station. :?

go to your home police stations website and download it from there, it will be under 'data protection' and/or 'freedom of information'

The orange form also says that what they want is information held on the police national computer. If your local const. form allows you to select this option, I say go for it, if not, just do the local and national ones separately so you can't lose. That's my game plan anyway...

On a side note, is anyone else also hoping that their doctor won't think that they have TB? I have developed a nasty cough in the last couple of days...

mine says " go to your lcoal police station and make a subject access request, which will detail all info had on the PNC' - this implicity states to get a subject access request, not to get all the PNC data held on you, as the former will include this anyway. id just get the subject access request form, might cause confusion if you hand in 2 forms when they ask for 1.

I had a TB vaccination when I was like 13 so I think I'll be OK.

Didn't you have a BCG jab?

I'm still confused as to whether we need to send off the form from this link: http://www.met.police.uk/information/request_forms.htm
or one from your local police service, which is in my case, West Yorkshire police.
My GP surgery is currently making it very difficult for me to get an appointment too. I rang up on Friday and told them what I needed, and they outright refused to give me an appointment, and said I need to do this privately. I'm just gonna march in on Monday morning with the forms and see what they say.

Also, I might sound a bit stupid, but I have read the subject access form, and I have no idea what it's talking about really. It seems as if you're filling in information for an incident that happened in which you were involved, when actually all we need is information telling us that we have no criminal offences.

If you compare the first form on this page to the second

http://www.cleveland.police.uk/advice-i ... ccess.aspx

The second form is the type you appear to be referring to, when in fact we think it's the first one you need to submit, not the second.

Thanks for your help you guys :) I have been on the West Yorkshire police website, and found this: http://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/site ... ccess2.pdf

I got it from here: http://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/data ... jectaccess

Is that the one I need? I really apologise for my stupidity, I just have no idea what I'm doing with regards to this form. I don't know anything about the police

The form you provided states:

"Tick here if you wish to access details of Arrests, Prosecutions, Convictions, Cautions,
Reprimands & Warnings. It includes details of arrested persons, offenders, suspected
offenders, cautioned, reprimanded and warned persons awaiting trial held on the Police
National Computer (PNC)."

This seems like it would be acceptable, no? They want a SAR that checks the PNC...which is what this does.

Just make sure to tick the box.

...Although I'm still going to ring the desk tomorrow morning to confirm.

I have a question about the reply form (and I think it might be a stupid one :? ):

Question 7 says 'Do you have a valid visa to enter Japan?'

I know JET will sort our working visas for us, so is this about whether I already have like a working holiday visa or something (I don't)?

I assumed that visa question is about any visas we currently have since it asks for an expiration date. I put no since I don't have one now.

For those with one police form, there seems to be a tick box for the full PNC check so that should be fine. The confusion is mainly just over the fact that both the local and national checks are Subject Access Requests. I'll call to ask on Monday, if I'm still confused, I'll just do both on the Met site. The JET Desk are going to be bombarded by calls on Monday morning!

It could be for people who are currently in Japan but flew home for interviews etc.

There are one or two.
