I went on the 16th too (!!), but paid in cash so I have no way of checking. Seems odd that you already have yours as surely ours will have been processed in the same batch. I'll have to make some calls tomorrow.

Question

What have people put on the xray part of the form for 'film number'

I got mine done at a provate hospital and they whack everything on the cd, but the department said they dont really issue film numbers and told me to put my hospital number down as a reference number.

Anyone else?

My doctor didn't put a film number down, so hopefully it's ok...

Just chased up my medical stuff with the JET desk - apparently that's all fine now, so only need to get my police reply form in.

My mum took my xray and she told me that there wasn't technically a film number because the hospital takes all its xrays digitally, without processing onto film.

I got mine on dvd lol. (I didn't post that in though)

So yea I guess that shouldn't be an issue, I hope. (I sent mine of 2 weeks ago and I'm sure they would have told me if there was an issue.)

UK Shortlisters - Paperwork

Postby aayl1 » Fri May 11, 2012 6:47 pm

My Police Reply from ACRO, rather than a regional constabulary, came today. A very unceremonious blue letter saying that there's nothing on me on the computer, and that the letter is not a "certificate of good character". Ie, I may not be a criminal, but I might still be a douche.

haha....

I got my ACRO blue double-blue-band 'no information on the Police National Computer' letter through today too. I applied for it on April 17th so it's taken 24days to receive it, inc. weekends, which is good to know for any of you waiting?
My appointment is next week too, to finalise and complete my Certificate of Health. X-ray is all clear! I wouldn't worry too much about the film number, as long as a professional doctor is happy to sign and say that your x-ray actually exists :)

Not long now! Are people booking travel yet to the Pre-Departure Orientation? I read that last year they paid for hotel accommodation for everyone, does anybody know if this is true, as i previously said it would be unlikely if they don't pay for travel to and from London? Just wondering so i can get a cheaper ticket for booking earlier, and ask friends in London about staying over :)

After my doctor's appointment last month, my doc told me to leave the health form with him so he can get another doc to call me about it. I just got a phone call telling me very politely that they have LOST my certificate of health!!  I can't believe it! Now I have to wait until Monday morning to call JET and ask them to send me another, and take it to the optician to get their bit done all again, and probably wait another few weeks for my doc to do it. They've had it since the 26th April, anyone would think I asked them to write a 10,000 word dissertation!

They told me to pick up an x ray form on Monday and apparently I can just go to the hospital any time and pay 90 quid to get it done without needing an appointment. I could have done it ages ago if they'd have told me that from the start.

Not a good day, in all. At this rate I'm going to miss the deadline. :?

Anyways, regarding the pre-departure orientation, I read on last year's thread that you stay in Brunel Uni Halls. I believe they pay for the one night between the 2 days but if you want to arrive earlier, you'd have to find accommodation yourself.

Hey guys,

I'm too busy to keep up with any forums, etc. right now, but thought I'd drop in to see how everyone is doing.

Since my last post, I received my police reply back which said there was nothing on the PNC about me. I also had the Mantoux test done by NHS Public Health. That was an injection into my forearm which was read as negative two days later. The doctor pretty much took an NHS headed piece of paper and slapped 'Mantoux test = Negative' and her signature on it and I was done. I sent everything to JET and got a nice email back about 48 hrs later saying "we recieved your documents and they were all satisfactory."

It saddens me that some of us are being passed from pillar to post by doctors regarding our health stuff for JET. It's the last thing we need, especially for those in uni with exams to focus on. Hope it all pans out for you guys in the end. So far, I've only paid £10 for the police reply and £18 for the health certificate, so again I sympathise with those who are having to pay big medical bills. My doctors were very obliging, efficient and supportive about the whole thing. I'm going to send my GP a postcard from wherever I am placed!

With the paperwork behind, JET and Japan have become so much more REAL! No more ifs and buts, just cold sweats at three in the morning. Joking ;>) I suppose I'm still a little nervous about where exactly I'm going to be placed.

So, now it's looking like I'll defintely meet some of you at London orientation and Edinburgh for departure!

I can't seem to get through to the Jet desk this morning.

Does anyone know if we have to send our X-ray results in along with our Certificate of Health or is it enough just for my doctor to see my X-ray is clear and write it in the correct section of the form?

I should think that as long as you get your doctor/hospital staff to write a letter on headed paper to say that the x-ray shows you're healthy, then that would be sufficient. You could send it, then if there are any problems you'll probably get an email from the JET desk saying what the problem is. I was gonna call this morning about my Mantoux test to ask if a letter from the hospital with my results on is okay or not. I'm just gonna send it and hope for the best. The thing is, it doesn't say on my letter "Mantoux test is negative", it just says "the 9mm result is in keeping with the BCG vaccination, therefore no further testing is necessary." I'm assuming that means negative, otherwise I would've thought the hospital would tell me that there was a problem. Oh and my mum has told me that my Police Reply has just come in the post, so once I return home at the end of the week I'll be sending that off. Is it starting to feel real to anyone yet? Now that I've got my paperwork I feel a little better. All that's standing in my way now is graduation. Gotta pass all the exams/essays/assignments :D My exams are until 6th June, but my big major one is on Wednesday. It's like the final boss at the end of a video game.

And I feel so bad for you, SakuraHoshii. I can't believe you're having so much hassle. The doctors don't seem to realise that this is your FUTURE they've got in their hands. :?

I feel so bad for you SakuraHoshi! Wasn't your doctor really mean to you as well for even asking him to do it in the first place and made you feel guilty? You should demand to be pushed at the top of the list and for it all to be done free and immediately. What a bunch of plonkers.
PS. If JET can't send one to you quickly, I scanned mine in high-res before giving it to my docs so if you need to print one out I can send it to you. PM me if you do x
