Hopefully that's it and we all get upgraded soon. Not to sound petty, and not that I don't want you all to be upgraded, but I'd hate if you all did and I didn't.

Hey ive been lurking here for some time. Im also an alternate JET. Neither happy or sad, somewhere in the middle i think. Have many Irish jets been upgraded before? Can Anyone give me some figures. I hope i get it, but im putting a few irons in the fire just to be sure. Interac to name a few.

Hi Photonquark, welcome to the forum at the min I think we are all in the same boat just floating around there in the middle but I'm trying to stay positive for us all and I will celebrate with each and everyone of us that get upgraded in the coming months even if I myself don't (really want to but if I don't guess it's not for me this year) I'm rooting for us all and so is Naomi! ->

We really feel for the alternate candidates being left in a continued state of limbo but be aware that many alternates are upgraded. Should a place become available we will let you know as soon as possible.

Hi there, I also recieved the email from naoimi and also the other one tell us that the form was uncomplete. Just after i had sent it back the previous day, So it is an incomplete form. So ill have to send the rest of it back on monday, if i get the letter then. I wonder how many got accepted and how many are alternatives. I think there were around 80 people at interviews. Appx. So 40 or so accepted or less maybe then including Alts aswell. Do all/most alts get accepted eventually?

um Yeah I went up to the embassy on Friday and I was only out the door when she realized and called me back to fill in the other half and get passport photos lol so got that all done and handed in my medical and just have to wait for the police cert which is free for us yay !!!

I'd say your right that about 80 of us got the interviews but I haven't a clue how many of the 80 are shortlisters and how many are alts

as for people who get upgraded she didn't really say when I was in there but I did ask and she said there was a good chance that they pretty much used all their alts last year but that may have been due to the quake so fingers crossed.

thats good to know. Thanks for the information. Glad you got your form sorted out right then and there. I had my medical and police form already done before the intervew thankfully. So i just have to send abck the other half. Im just thinking they have alts for a reason. As we are also accpeted in a way just not given a definite place yet hopefully.

Here is hoping !!! can I ask you how long it took to get your garda cert back ?

It took me about 3 weeks to get my Garda Cert back.. and when I did get it, it said I was currently living in Australia. Then it took another two days to get it corrected.

As for numbers of Shortlisted/Alts/Rejected, I know of one ALT who doesn't post here who said she wouldn't be taking the post even if she's upgraded and one person who was rejected. There's two less in the maybe pile to worry about I guess?

Well I emailed the Garda station and they never replied and then it arrived in 2-3 weeks appx. I emailed them with all my previous addresses and it came back like that with them saying at the bottom I wasn't a criminal mental case.

My friend that also applied got alternate as well, but she has been given a job so will be unable to take it. I feel so guilty HOPING some short-listers dont get through and we all get upgraded ha!

Also Loerian, you absolutely terrified me with that list, I haven't checked my e-mail in a few days and when I read that list really quickly, for a moment I thought it was a list of people that had been upgraded. Seeing my username and my heart started pounding haha!
