Again - agreeing with Gekishinken  it's terribly nagging...but it's better to be waiting for placement than waiting for the upgrade!!! :D

Ditto! Though it is frustrating because you *know* you need to do/buy a lot of stuff to get ready on a short deadline, but you don't know exactly what to you need (ie, buying suits for teaching SHS vs buying tracksuits for elementary schools; buying sweaters for Hokkaido vs putting sweaters in storage for Okinawa) - but it's a much more fun kind of wait. :)

Also, congrats emptycanyon!

Ugh - that's my biggest dilemma right now! I'm so excited and cleaning up/selling/putting things in storage - but where I go will decide on what I bring. Which will make it so much easier once we know! :D

Yeah, the waiting can be nagging...even subconsciously. I had a dream last night that I found out my placement. I was selected to go to Aomori and that my BOE placed me in a drive through coffee shop! (do these even exist in Japan?)

Anyway, my first task was to get all customers to pronounce Coffee like an american instead of using the Katakana pronunciation of コーヒー

Clearly I am ready for the next step!

That is absolutely fantastic - I've had dreams. By far the funniest though was one where I found out I was going to Okinawa, my father (who was stationed there for a year with the marines) just kept telling me to buy a boat...I had no idea why, but when I got there, they told me my school was floating on the ocean...which was cool, but odd and just ridiculous XD

Not sure he will like that one lol. Who wants their middle name blasted on the forums? Wallace from X-consulate might not.

Good luck with your search. I wish more people possessed your zeal about looking for us noobs. Its like we're orphans waiting for adoption.

People did it last year to search for people. If we don't have emails we rely on the forums. And I'm personally excited to know my successor. Everyone else is too, but I need to get in touch with them asap for some BoE stuff. But seriously at least here people are talking and getting excited to meet you all.

Anyways aren't you excited to meet your pred? Talking to them sooner rather than later is always better. :) My pred searched for me on the forum so I think it's ok.

Actually, I'm kind of proud of my middle name. Joseph is from Joseph Milani, my great grandfather. He brought his family from Italy to the U.S. I never got to meet him, he died before I was born I believe, but I do remember my great grandmother, she didn't speak English. She would only talk to my dad, who didn't speak Italian, but knew what she was saying. Good memories.

So, yeah, I'm Jeffrey Joseph Wallace. HAHAHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! LA hasn't released their results yet, but through a roundabout way I guess I have figured out where I'm going. FUKUI! That was my first choice! AND, subconsciously, I was hoping for something near the ocean, near some major cultural stuff, but far enough away to feel "small town". How close was I???

Hey everyone! I just received my placement yesterday and I'm heading to Sukagawa, Fukushima! I'm waiting for my pred to get in touch with me but the other two JETs that live in my apartment complex have already reached out with me and have been answering all my questions. :D

I believe I have been placed in the best prefecture ever, or perhaps region, based by the slew of pms and messages I've received with information on my placement. So legit excited and thankful to be in Ishikawaaaaaaaaaaaa oh yeah.

I'm so excited that placements are out (and Chiba was my 2nd choice)!! This is definitely sooner than I expected!

Hello, I just got my placement for the JET program! I'm going to be in Tokushima-ken and I'm being contracted through Aizumi-cho. Indigo Ai, maybe I'm your replacement? I'm really looking forward to see what grades I'll be placed with and what my school is like. Indigo Ai What grades do you teach?
