Anyone else feel super dejected since the first week is over with no phone call? I mean I know that a lot of people get upgraded later on but I figured the biggest wave is in the first week, now that that's over I'm not sure how to feel

Our reply forms weren't due until today so I'm considering next week the actual first week. Keep your hopes up! Even if your deadline was earlier in the week it seems like today was the latest deadline for any consulate so maybe they were still waiting until next week to do the first big wave of upgrades!

I am also upset by the lack of upgrades this week, but I definitely think some people will be made very happy next week. I'm hoping that because my birthday is Thursday--and I haven't asked for anything but an upgrade--that I will be one of them.

The great thing is, when you consider this email, it kind of points to the first few upgrades being next week... and hear I thought all my excitement and worrying was spent for this one. Definitely not doing my health any good to stay so on edge about this, but it's so hard not to.

Do you figure her phone number is what we'll get a call from? Should do the smart thing and give it a special ringtone like other JETs have...

Excellent positive thinking! I will think that way as well...maybe we'll be like Shell and HelloNoreen and get upgraded back to back next week. Tomorrow until Wednesday, I'll be visiting my family in Atlanta before my sister moves to Africa next month (with her husband and newborn son), and it would be nice to hear while I'm with them.

I assume the upgrade call will come from the number in Susan's email signature. It looks like that's the main consulate number too (http://www.boston.us.emb-japan.go.jp/EN ... ctions.htm). I've been meaning to set up a special ringtone, but I only ever think of it when I'm at work - thanks for reminding me!
