Next week?? Seriously? That just made me really excited...and made the decision for me of whether to bring my laptop with me on vacation with my mom. (I'd been leaning toward not bothering, but NOW I'm definitely bringing it with me next week!)

Yes, next week! I'm glad you guys are excited, too, because when I read her email, I was all, "!!!!!!!!!" And then I thought that maybe I was getting too excited, because I mean, for all we know, the email won't say anything more than a confirmation of things we already know, but it'll still be nice to have some communication. Maybe there will be more details about June 30, too. My brain is already "JET JET JET JET JET JET JET JET JET" even with other distracting things so this just adds one more JET on top of that, ha! I don't know how you can manage studying for/taking finals right now, tashikanakoto. My concentration is shot. All I think is, "MUST STUDY JAPANESE MUST STUDY JAPANESE," LOL.

Anyway, next week is definitely too early for placements, I think, right? But we'll get some kind of info nonetheless. I'm not even letting myself guess when the placements might come out because I can't handle thinking about all the possibilities, LOL. So, I'm assuming we'll get them in June at this point to save myself the torture of thinking "ANY DAY NOW!! ANY DAY NOW!! ANY DAY NOW!!" every day for the rest of the month.

When I emailed Noriko to update her on my IRS situation (finally all fixed), she told me the same thing about getting an email with more information next week.
She just said "regarding your pre-departure preparations", so it's probably gonna be the handbook and hopefully some more info about June 30th.
It's WAY too early for placements, I believe. ^^

LOL, I know it won't be placements, but it's still exciting! I want the handbook! I want info! I want it to be July!

I'm moving out of NYC (but relatively close by) by the end of May to spend more time with family before leaving, so anything a little earlier? But please invite me to the FB group, yes!

I'm actually still very mild about it all. I daydream about what it will be like; I prepped my house, I'm saving money and studying Japanese... but it still seems like a crazy fantasy.

I really need to be placed and have my FBI check clear before I can toss this cautiousness to the wind. Not that I wouldn't sooner if my stupid personality would allow it. >:/

And me too, omnom. I'm excited, but I still do have these little hang-ups. They're getting smaller and smaller, though, as things start to fall into place! But still i can't wait to just have a placement, give my notice at work, and be ready to go!

I know, me too! How exciting! It made me a little nervous about the FBI check getting there on time, but I think it'll be fine since they know when we sent it in. Also, I was relieved/bummed at the same time to hear that we'll find out placements at the end of May- relieved because now I had a date to think of and don't have to wonder WHEN, but bummed because all the prefecture posts got me thinking that maybe they were going to announce it early this year or something! Ah, well, I can handle another few weeks of waiting. . At least I have a placement to wait for!

The prospect of getting placement info in late-May is SUPER exciting! I hope that really is the case and the they aren't delayed (wouldn't be surprised though).

But in any case, placements will be coming sooonnn!!!!
