Food! Goodness me, school lunches!

Aww, don't be such a wuss! Your aversion is psychological. Just close your eyes when you eat it, if you have to; they don't taste that bad--a little like catfood, actually.

Side note: You can actually buy cat food that has those same little fish in it; my cat loves it. You can also buy those little fish in packages that are labeled as "cat treats."

I thought the foods on the blog looked pretty good! I'm always up for trying new things! My only concern is not being able to finish my food. To lose weight, I've been eating several small meals everyday (without the surgery to help, btw), so my stomach is considerably smaller, meaning I don't have a prayer of finishing most meals larger than a typical lean cuisine. I've read that it's bad form not to finish your food, so I'm a little concerned that people might get upset at me for not finishing.

*Edit - Those eyes.... @_@ I must admit, the eye thing does creep me out a bit. lol

Try that fish when it's fried! You can also eat them as snacks (fried with sweet/spicy taste)

They're just sardines. Usually you see them roasted and flavored, making them crunchy, and I don't mind those kinds generally. Never actually had the soft ones before. They taste a little metallic-y, at least the crunchy kind do. They're not bad as long as they're flavored well. :B But yes, those are the eyes. They don't cut the heads off- that would be way too much work considering how tiny they are, hahaha

Oops! Silly me! I skimmed the first two pages, and didn't slow down until I got to page 3. That's a smart idea about bringing a tupperware container and taking leftovers home!

As I said... I cannot eat those. Psychological aversion it may be... but when I try I feel like I'm going to throw up. But I will say that the taste isn't bad at all -- you either don't notice them, or they taste kind of good.... Personally though, I feel ill when I get them... in the tiny variety (Shown in the picture) or the larger variety that are about 3 inches long.

I've found that I get ridiculed for my inability to eat food with eyes on it.... but at the same time, since I eat everything else, they leave me alone past that. And it's good natured ridicule, so I don't mind so much... I ridicule my co-workers just back for calling any kind of fried dough a doughnut. It works.

I always find it amusing how people have trouble with the tiny fish since I've eaten it since I was young. Never really thought about how strange it may seem. One of the many benefits of being of Chinese descent.

I just shovel food into my mouth during lunch regardless of whether I like it or not. It's worked so far.

I avoided eating them for a year and a half until I stayed at a friend's house and she made some of the roasted ones so I was obliged to try one, and really it wasn't bad. I go so far as to even buy them at the store now, however their palatability really depends on how they're seasoned I think. The little soft ones in the salad probably don't even taste like anything, as others have said. So, I wouldn't worry too badly.
