Sorry for the double post... I received your PM Jason, but it won't let me reply :? I think it's because I'm still considered a newbie on the forum. I'll give you my skype name here and just delete it later.

Hey guys :)

It's strange to think that the JET process is still going on; my application feels like it was a lifetime ago already. I'm excited for you guys though, it shouldn't be too long now!

Hope you're doing ok Pandasan! It does feel like ages :)

So today starts the April postman watch! I know we're talking about it in the April thread, but I thought it would be nice to have a UK-specific place; although most of the UKers have vanished off here! Hello anyone? *voice echoes around empty room*

I take it no-one has heard anything yet? Hope it's soon :D

This forum is now running so slowly, I can play a whole game of solitaire in the time it takes to change pages... :?

My living room/computer room windows face the driveway and the rest of the road, so I'm always in a good spot to wait and watch.

Every time Mr. Postie comes down my road, I narrate his journey in my best Attenborough voice. "And now, the postman in his natural environment. See the walk: relaxed yet with purpose. His hands, full of post, waiting to be delivered. The JET applicant, however, is waiting. She waits, poised, for the sound of the letter box. Here he comes, post in hand, to the delivery. The JET hopeful hears the flap. She pounces. The doormat, cushioning the fall, is laden with envelopes. However, today, she is unlucky. There is no brown envelope. She will have to resume the wait for another day."

My brother is applying for EPIK (the Korean version of Interac I think) and just got his FBI check (we lived abroad) and I crapped myself on return home from shopping this morning to see brown envelope on the mat. Another day, another disappointment!

Anyway, no emails, no JET Twitter updates, no post. It's got to "every hour" basis on refreshing things. I'll be every 15 mins by the end of the week.

How fares everyone else? I'm horse riding tomorrow so that'll take my mind off the postman watch for a few hours at least.

I lol'd at this. This is me too. I'm the last house on my road too so the watching & waiting is excruciating. I fear by the end of this week I'll be running out and scaring the bejaysus out of Mr. Postie in an effort to get my letter :(
Finally in Japan and loving it!

Heehee You guys are making me feel a lot better about what an impatient crazy person I have become these past couple of days!!

I refresh this forum and the Twitter page way more often than is necessary or sensible, knowing full well that if I hear any news of a specific results release date, or someone having received their results, I would grow ever more impatient!
I have to say, the wait is hard but it's oh so exciting too! Or is that just me...?

My husband and I have applied together, so we have double the nail-biting waiting and worry of the scary options that face us, ie. neither of us getting in, one getting in and not the other, being separated etc.

All your comments make me giggle so much though – Thank you for sharing and honestly good luck to everyone!! :D

Haha, I love this. Our postman doesn't come till at least midday so I have to wait until after work to see the post. It's less painful than waiting for him to come I think. I'm not really expecting anything until after Easter but from the information from people in other countries, many seem to have been told the results will come this week though.

At this point, after waiting so long, I think I'm fine with whichever result comes but I would just like to know either way! If I don't get in, I think I would probably be more upset at having to tell everyone about it and feeling like I've let them down since they all seem to have high expectations... I didn't want to tell many people about applying but of course telling one person at work ended up with everyone in the office asking me about it!

Nothing in Tuesday's post. *twiddles thumbs*

Fortunately I'm working full time at the mo, therefore I'm unable to lie in wait for the postie. I'm really glad though because the constant routine in January of waiting around all morning, rushing downstairs at the slightest sound and feeling crushed everytime there was nothing isn't something I want to go through again! Much easier to just shout 'any post?!' to my parents as soon as I step through the door.

Getting through March was a breeze, but as soon as it's hit April I feel like I can't even wait another hour!
If I know for sure they will be sent out from next week onwards I may be able to *just* get on with my life a little longer... :D

On UK Jet's recent tweets (March 2nd) they say:
'Interviewed candidates will be notified of their status in April. Please note the exact dates of when in April have yet to be confirmed.'

Do you guys think they are yet to confirm a date before they even begin to start sending the letters out?

Good Morning, viewers, and welcome to Post Watch Day 3.

Today's postman was an average chap, but he walked with determination through the cold, blustery weather. In his clutches: a large white envelope and a smaller jiffy one. Alas, as the post hit the mat, so to speak, disappointment was evident. No letter today; I shall return to refreshing my email every 10 minutes.

Anyone further south, keep us updated (I'm Liverpool area.)

If it puts anyone's mind to rest (and stops postmen and postwomen all over the country getting a fright from our watchful eyes) I phoned the JET UK desk and they haven't recieved info from Tokyo yet so results come out in mid-April.

So now we can all enjoy our Easter weekend and following days like we did back in March!

Good luck all

Hello from across the pond! We've all been lurking around the other country threads trying to gather intel. 8D Anyway, I've been sitting here giggling at ya'lls talk of stalking the postman (we've been stalking our inboxes!) and y'all made me think of this:

I hope we can all meet in Tokyo! Hang in there friends!

Only just made the effort to find this forum the other day, hence the newbie status, but figured it was still worth joining in with the thread! My name is Jonathan, but please call me Jonny :) , and I'm a first time applicant to the JET scheme and am currently studying in my final year at Warwick University. Just as a way of saying hello, I figured I'd post a relevant link because all I want is to be loved :D

http://constantineintokyo.com/2010/04/1 ... selection/

Not sure who might have already read this (I imagine you probably all have several times :P), but for anyone who hasn't it was certainly an interesting read regarding some statistics of the application process. I mean, obviously what we all need to do now is worry about our exact percentage chance of having been offered a place, that is of course if we weren't all already panicking enough.....

Good luck to everyone with their applications and I really hope to be seeing lots of you in Japan in the summer!
