Hi, I thought I had posted a reply the day I found out about my interview...I guess it didn't go through, but I fortunately got an interview!

Sirjorky | Nashville | interview!

Mine is Feb 15...right during my hardest class, so bummer there, but I'm still really excited to get the interview!

Btw, do we--US interviewees--have a teaching lesson to do or is that a requirement only for other countries?

I have not heard of a lesson plan being needed for the interview.

I'd say that I wished Miami was my consulate guide too...but Denver has an amazing coordinator. :D She really helped me out when I was stressing about the MEXT scholarship. Why does MEXT need to be sent to the state of your residency as opposed to your current one? :<

I heard its a crapshoot. Guess you'll find out at the interview.

miami_coordinator wrote:Haha, thanks guys. This means I have to be extra scary in the interview.

Seriously, though, you have my email address now, so feel free to ask me any questions you may have :) . That said, I can't answer anything about specific questions or interview format or anything like that. I'll provide some very basic information about the interview in an email later in the week, and beyond that I really can't get too in-depth with details. However, you can ask me any other questions you may have that aren't addressed or aren't clear in that later email.

Oh, lord. We've jinxed ourselves.

:D Thanks so much for your assistance and help. You've definitely have gone way above the call of duty, I think.

That sounds like what everyone should do. :)

Oh, you can delete Katie from the Atlanta slot. That was me. I just decided to update with hunterofpeace from now on because it's easier to keep track of.

I've just looked over both the original interview list and the amended one, and I feel I can confidently say that there are NO numbers missing from the second revised list. Once you remove all the JET page headings and look at only the numbers, there are the same number of numbers in each document- that is, 1549 of them. So, whoever said there were numbers missing from the revised PDF is extremely silly for saying so, unless Microsoft Word is lying to me, which is also possible. But in this instance, I like to think that at least Word can word-count correctly. :P

Could you post the original interview list :D? If that's the case, then boo at that person for causing such a panic >:(

I started to go through each number of the original list individually after putting them in numerical order to look for duplicates but after getting half way through it, I figured if there were really 90 something numbers missing that I should have run into at least one duplicate by now and I didn't. That's when I just put both of them into their own word files and stripped the headings and got the same word count for each. I have no idea how he came to the conclusion that near 100 numbers were missing. :/

Glad I could help. I didn't know everyone didn't download the original PDF.

In the realm of personal good news, I took my suit pants to be hemmed today and not only is it only around $16 to do, but it will also take them until Friday to return my pants to me and my interview is next wednesday so it's cutting it kinda close. IF ANYONE needs to get pants hemmed or clothes/suits fitted for the interview, do it NOW so that there is plenty of time to have the work done and also possibly drycleaned before your interviews! Don't wait! :o

He probably counted the rows wrong and got that number. Or decided to troll. One of the two. :|

Ah! That does remind me. I do need to get one of my suits altered. So yes! Thanks for that reminder.
