Question:

I know the waiting game continues.....but what exactly are we waiting on? I know its paperwork from the contracting organisation and I am guessing travel arrangements. Am I the only one anxious? Taking the advice from my aunt and not giving my job any notice until I have official paper in hand.

What say ye?

You and i are in the same boat........
I submitted all that paperwork along with the application, with the exception of the police report thing cos it wasnt ready. But I submitted the reply form and that police thing. I even confirmed with the lady that I dont need to resubmit anything.....

Anxiety is kicking in.

I agree on the job notice thing...but since I am already a teacher I would like to prep my school and/or my parents at least.

The wait continues...............

Hello everyone :D congrats to all the shortlisters I'm currently a first yr trini JET and I can surely recall what this process feels like as though it was just yesterday I did it ! Trust me the waiting game is the secret code for "patience skills development" and trust me you're gonna need alot of patience when you get here so take your lessons seriously :P lol . Anywhos have no fear cuz preparations are being made from this end for your arrival as I type this messgae and there are already rumors which countires new JETS will be coming from to at least the Ken I'm in :D :D :D :D wink wink cough cough . Anywhos stay strong and continue to be patient the waiting game is long from over and as you have these few months left in your home countries trust me when I say enjoy them and cherish them!!!! Spend them with the people you love and do the things you love and for the Trinis eat all the TRINI FOOD you can cuz lord knows it will be one of the first things you will miss the most about home lol :D .
Well that's all for now please feel free to ask me any questions and once I'm able to, I will answer you . Hope to see you guys soon !!!!

Hi quick question to any current JETS, who went straight from UWI. Did you get your completion letters in time, or did you get something else. I'm just wondering if everyone uses the same thing for proof of graduation and if it comes out in time.

Hey there.

I came straight from UWI, and I didn't get my degree on time. I just explained the situation to the Embassy, it wasn't a problem at all. I got a statement from my faculty saying that I had completed everything required for the award of the degree, but that the actual certificates weren't printed yet and wouldn't be until graduation in October.

No worries!

BUT, go EARLY to UWI because as we all know UWI admin is crrrrraaaaaaaapppp.... so count on them delaying that letter!! I had to rellll nag to get it! It helped that I was traveling a lot right before coming to Japan so I just showed them my flight plans and explained to them that it was urgent, and waited hours until the person in charge was around so I spoke to them directly.... (Then they spelt my name wrong and eventually I had to get someone to pick it up for me.... lol)
But yeah, it's not a problem!

Lexxi girl, I am not one to talk my business either especially this is my first time working in Trinidad (and at my school), I just hoping that we get everything settled early enough because I would like to tell my principal and my parents as all my students have developmental disabilities. I just nervous I guess.
I was even checking to see if I made copies of the forms I submitted, I know I did but can't find it - talk about anxiety. But I too have end of term stuff to get done, so at least that's keeping me a little busy.

Thank for the advice though......

As for the insider clarification of rumors, MUCH appreciated.

I gonna real miss bake and shark comin to think of it

I had to leave my teaching job as well and you will get everything in time to give approximately a month and a half notice as i remember am so excited for you guys because you will know pretty soon. Start preparing to leave some things here are very different and take adjusting too i suggest you bring toothpaste if you are particular like that because it is definitely different. Other than you really have to hear where you are going to from your predecessors. Have a good one ... Any alternates upgraded yet?
