A new J→E/E→J Dictionary App has hit the i-Tunes store and it's the best one I've used. It's called "Midori". It has all of the features of "Kotoba" and "Japanese", both of which I've used faithfully up until now, plus more. While I could list all of its great features, one in particular was the selling point for me: Native Japanese Character Input! Not the limited Chinese character recognition that's built into the i-Pod device which causes all sorts of frustration for Japanese learners due to the slight differences between some Japanese and Chinese characters. The programmers have developed their own input specifically for Japanese characters for when you want to look up vocabulary or kanji by drawing them in directly.
