47. The Orientation begins again early Tuesday morning, with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Keynote Speech and Panel Discussion.

48. MEXT will hold team-teaching demonstrations and lesson-planning instruction workshops on Tuesday morning and afternoon.

49. Prefecture meetings are held Tuesday afternoon. A representative from each Prefecture comes to attend this meeting. This year will see a drastric change from previous years. Unlike the picture above, many prefectures will have their meeting at the same time in a large room. We understand that this may make it difficult to speak to new JETs, and TOAs are encouraged to communicate with the prefecture representative about what content will be covered at this meeting.

50. New JET participants will choose from a variety of CLAIR workshops that will give more information about living and working in Japan.

51. TOAs can choose to assist with Embassy Welcome Events that will take place on Tuesday night.

52. If you wish to attend an Embassy Welcome Event you should have noted so on your TOA reply form. If there is a change, please notify CLAIR immediately. TOAs who do not attend an Embassy Welcome Event will very likely be scheduled for the Hospitality Center and Information Desk during this time.

53. After an coming home early from the Embassy Events, TOAs meet their prefecure group at the designated place (either Eminence Room or hotel lobby) and depart for host prefecture together.

54. Departure! NOTE: please contact the JET Programme supervisor in your prefecture/designated city to inquire if you will be asked escort the new JETs back to host prefecture. MOST TOAs are asked to do so.
