【Conference for Re-contracting JETs】
The Conference for Re-Contracting JETs is held each year in late May and early June for first year JET Programme participants who chose to re-contract for a second year. The Conference focuses on providing work skills that will benefit both the JET and their Contracting Organisation in the following year.
JET Programme particiapants attend the Conference for Re-Contracting JETs based on where they are placed in Japan. ALTs placed in Southern and Western Japan attend the Conference for Re-Contracting JETs held in Kobe. ALTs placed in Eastern and Northern Japan as well as all CIRs and all SEAs attend the Conference for Re-Contracting JETs held in Tokyo.
The Conference offers ALTs the chance to participate in a variety of workshops presented by professional speakers or experienced JETs (2 or more years) that offer valuable information and advice for having a productive second year on the programme, both in and outside of the classroom. For CIRs, all workshops are presented by professional speakers, giving CIRs insight into Japanese workplaces and manners, or delving into the realm of international communication.
