This page is intended for those taking the JET Programme Japanese Language Course (Beginning/ Intermediate/ Advanced) in 2008.

The purpose of the JET Programme Japanese Language Course is to enhance your understanding of Japanese language and culture. The textbooks distributed to you each month will incorporate various aspects of life in Japan.

We hope that your participation in this course will not only give you a better understanding of the Japanese language, but that your daily life and work here will be enriched as a result. Please try your best and work hard to complete this course.

There are three levels in this course: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced. Before enrolling in a particular course level, take the placement test (by clicking on the link below), and check your results. The placement test will give you an idea of the level of difficulty of each course.

Please note that you will not be able to change course level once you have sent in your application form.

Also note that this placement test should only be used for choosing which JET Programme Japanese Language Course to enrol in. It is not an indication of overall Japanese language ability.
