This page is intended for those taking the JET Programme Japanese Language Course (Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Course, Pedagogy and Linguistics Course, and the Translation and Interpretation Course) in 2013-2014.


The purpose of the JET Programme Japanese Language Course is to enhance your understanding of Japanese language and culture. If you are taking the Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Course, we hope that the textbooks distributed to you each month will incorporate various aspects of life in Japan.

 

Please note there is a qualifying exam for the Translation and Interpretation Course.


We hope that your participation in this course will not only give you a better understanding of Japanese, the language, but that your daily life and work here will be enriched as a result. Please try your best and work hard to complete this course.

The placement test should only be used for choosing which Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Course to enrol in. It is not an indication of overall Japanese language ability.

 

Please note that you will not be able to change course level once you have sent in your application form.
